I started my career in the 1980s with a four-year Electrical/Electronic Engineering Apprenticeship, during which I gained a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Whilst working, I studied for and graduated with a BA (Hons) degree from the Open University, UK in 1994 and an MSc in Information Systems Management from De Montfort University, UK in 2000.
I joined GE in 1990 as an Application Engineer working for GE's Automation and Controls (originally known as GE FANUC and later as GE Intelligent Platforms) in the UK. Since then, I have worked with many of GE's automation controller and I/O hardware and Proficy software products, including Series 90 controllers, PACSystems controllers, IICS, Mark VIeS Functional Safety Solution, IPCs, CIMPLICITY HMI/SCADA and Historian database. Recently I have been working with Predix and APM and Equipment Insight IIoT solutions. Emerson acquired GE's Intelligent Platforms division on 1st February 2019.
I have worked on projects in a variety of industries including pulp and paper, OEM machinery, metals and mining, power generation, oil & gas, automotive, food and beverage and life sciences.
I have a dual role as leader of a support team covering the EMEA region and also as a pre-sales Application Engineer and Solution Architect.
Outside of work I enjoy reading, food, and keeping fit with weight training, running and cycling.
