You only have to visit Greg McMillan’s author page here on the blog to see his massive contributions to our automation profession. I came across a recently published ControlGlobal.com article, Greg McMillan profiled in Who’s Who. This is well-deserved recognition for Greg.

ControlGlobal.com’s Jim Montague opens the article by highlighting this accomplishment.

Marquis Who’s Who reported Aug. 23 that longtime Control columnist and pillar of the process control community Greg McMillan has been included in its well-known, biographical volumes in celebration of his decades of dedication to the process engineering field and his work with ControlGlobal.com. Marquis Who’s Who profiles individuals based on their positions, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence.

Greg remains active in sharing his expertise online in several areas.

The article recaps many of Greg’s accomplishments.

McMillan excelled as a senior principal software engineer for Emerson Process Systems and Solutions, where he began as a modeling and control consultant in 2002. Over the years, he also honed his expertise as a modeling and control consultant for CDI Professional Services and Mynah Technologies. He’s also written more than 200 feature articles and papers and authored more than 20 books on process instrumentation, modeling and control.

You can see many of those books available on Amazon.com. The article closes with Greg’s thoughts on the future.

While hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, McMillan credits his success to maintaining an open mind, learning from others, and embracing lifelong learning. During the next five years, McMillan intends to continue positively impacting his community, fostering open-mindedness, and enhancing collaboration. He also aims to continue his Control Talk column and “Ask the Automation Pros” posts.

Hopefully, this post will inspire some automation professionals to pick up the banner to share their expertise and inspire future generations of automation professionals.
