Bluetooth technology has enabled great conveniences such as listening through wireless headphones or speakers, controlling smart home devices, and even monitoring temperatures on your barbeque pits—for those who love good BBQ. It was just a matter of time before this useful communications technology came to our world of automation and instrumentation.
This “How To” video, How to connect to an Emerson Device over Bluetooth Technology, shows the process of connecting and interacting with an Emerson Bluetooth device. Bluetooth connectivity to field instrumentation enables a simple way to perform configuration, maintenance, and service tasks without needing a physical connection or separate configuration tool.
In this demonstration, the Bluetooth device is a Rosemount transmitter, and a mobile phone running the AMS Device Configurator Bluetooth app connects with it. This app is available for no charge in the app store.
Watch the video and visit the Bluetooth Connectivity for Field Instrumentation section on Emerson.com for more ways for the operations and maintenance teams to simplify routine tasks without needing a physical connection.
