Earlier this summer, Emerson attended a three-day event highlighting the new advances in the oil & gas industry. The event, the 94th International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement (ISHM), was held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the Cox Convention Center Tuesday, May 14th through Thursday, May 16th.
ISHM organized comprehensive exhibits and educational courses daily, offering the chance to keep current on the latest changes and developments in the field of hydrocarbon measurement. Emerson manned 6 booths at the conference, allowing participants to interact with a diverse group of experts from our portfolio of solutions, including Micro Motion, Rosemount, and Roxar. The booths, stocked with equipment for guests to play with, provided opportunities for valued customers to experience our wide range of products in person. Some of the spotlighted products include the Micro Motion 4200 2-Wire Transmitter, the Micro Motion 5700 Field-Mount Transmitter, the Micro Motion F300 Coriolis Meter, and the Rosemount 3418 8-Path Gas Meter. ISHM’s technical classes included both fundamentals and special hands-on workshops covering a wide range of gas and liquid measurement topics. Emerson taught 39 of the 300 total classes offered.
After a long, busy day full of classes on Wednesday, attendees unwound at the Oklahoma City Dodgers’ stadium, also known as Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, for an Emerson customer reception. Participants relaxed by utilizing the Dodgers’ batting cage, watching The Sandlot play on the big screens, consuming delicious appetizers and beer, and playing lawn games that decorated the historic field. Additionally, Martin Schlebach, Director of Global Business Development at Emerson Automation Solutions, hosted a live demonstration and presentation of new product innovations. Customers heard a special briefing on Emerson’s 2019 ultrasonic meter product releases, featuring the Rosemount 3418 8-Path Gas Meter and more.
ISHI’s success brought 1600 people in attendance, with over 130 exhibitors. Attendees traveled from throughout America and even globally to learn, touch, and experience the newest advancements in the hydrocarbon measurement industry. Emerson staff enjoyed chatting with convention guests about their visions and challenges working within this field and took note of these conversations.
