Course 7039 – AMS Device Manager with DeltaV is an instructor led, 4 ½ day course and geared toward instrument technicians and other reliability professionals responsible for all areas of managing and ensuring the reliability of instrumentation in the plant process including startup and commissioning, normal operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Tasks performed by these technicians typically include:
- responding to work orders created to calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, service, and replace instruments and valves
- monitoring alerts to preemptively address problems prior to operators seeing a problem in the control room
- providing loop testing and assistance with instrumentation on plant turnarounds, startups, and for project work
- improving process availability and reduces operations and maintenance costs
Tinh noted that previously, there were separate DeltaV and AMS training focused curriculum which left some wondering how to connect and work with the two together. This course is a blend of 7037 Communication Bus Interface – DeltaV System including Fieldbus overview, 7009 DeltaV Implementation I, and 7020 AMS Device Manager.
Prerequisites for the 7039 course include Microsoft windows experience and completion the eLearning e7020 AMS Device Manager Suite Primer. The course is initially offered in North America and virtually. You can contact the Educational Services team for when it may be available in your area.
You can connect and interact with Tinh and other asset management and reliability professionals in the Asset Optimization, Maintenance and Reliability track of the Emerson Exchange 365 community.
